Description of the activities carried out. During the various checks that were carried out, the following was discovered: 1. In the de-dusting filter PLENUM area, there is condensate on the walls of the filter clean area chamber. 2. Checking the assembly of sleeves and baskets. 3. It was observed that certain PLENUM inspection doors are not equipped with sealing gaskets or, in other cases, such gasket has been assembled incorrectly. Checking for proper fan operation. The impeller of the fan in question shows no problems in terms of being unbalanced. The impeller looks balanced. Vibrations are high only on the bearing impeller side 5.5 m/s. Impeller pollution previously caused by the passage of the dust that caused such unbalance. Currently resolved. puregear The fan was cleaned inside the hopper. 1. Checking the FLEX joints on the fan. 4. Various checks concerning puregear the assembly methods of the cyclone, conduits and silencer. Results 1. The condensate which formed in the PLENUM area is due to the difference in temperature between the warm air inside the filter and the cold air, drawn in from the outside, through the PLENUM puregear inspection doors. The lack of sealing gaskets on the inspection doors creates the effect of a false air intake inside the filter from the outside. In this case, a very high quantity of condensate is generated, which in turn also pollutes the fan impeller and causes it to become unbalanced. 2. While checking the assembly methods of sleeves and baskets, we noticed that such job was carried out on a surface that was not completely clean (sleeves support plate). In this case, the perfect seal of the SNAP-RING sleeves was not guaranteed. The dust that the filtering puregear sleeves allow to pass through, mixed with the condensate, have created a quantity of mud. Such quantities, with the normal flow of air, are carried towards the fan (hopper, fan and impeller), causing the fan impeller to become unbalanced. 3. The lack of seal gasket on the inspection door is the cause of the condensate problem. Not acceptable in these cases. It is very important to purchase and properly assemble the new gasket. 4. The system fan shows initial wear of the transmission belts and bearings. This is all due to the fan malfunctioning as a result of the incoming dust and condensate inside the rotating hopper. 5. It was noticed that the flexible joints of the fan, both pressing and suction opening of the fan, show serious puregear tears in the fabric. This problem was created by the vibrations, initially caused by the malfunctioning fan impeller. 6. There was a problem with dust leaks during the first start-up phase of the system. These leaks have been verified on the filter outlet conduits, cyclone and fan silencer conduit. We can infer that the problem is due to improper assembly at the carpentry level or to the complete absence of sealing gaskets or silicone. Conclusions In order to complete the job in question and solve the various problems currently indicated and caused by an incorrect assembly of the plant in question please find below a list of activities to be carried out, in order to plan and organize ourselves with regards to a possible plant shut down:
1. Completely disassemble the sleeves and the baskets. 2. Thoroughly clean the inside of the dedusting filter and filtering sleeves support plate. 3. Clean the blowing tubes . 4. Paint the inside of the PLENUM are with rust-proofing agent. 5. Assemble sleeves and baskets + blowing tubes. 6. Assemble sealing gaskets on inspection doors. 7. Check and repair through welding or pure gaskets to guarantee the seal of conduits and of the cyclone. 8. Replace puregear fan belts and bearings. 9. Replace Flex joints of the suction and pressing element of the fan.
1. Considering the pollution which occurred during the first phase of filter life, we recommend keeping a spare set of sleeves on hand at the plant. Moreover, we recommend totally puregear insulating the filter. Currently not completed. The plenum area lack such insulation material .
