While in Moldova were developed Strategy and Action Plan Diversity Conservation, environmental quality in Moldova is constantly degradation and ecological education repre not yet a national priority.
According to a study of MEM "Middle proline pools Prut Valley is one of the most picturesque proline pools valleys in the Carpatho-Danubian-Pontic and only here can be seen and studied special proline pools mysterious wonders of nature."
The complex consists of rocks and reefs Tortone subsarmate Toltrels called Prut. Here have been preserved for millions of years reefs formed from the remains of various organisms and human settlements paleontological. Currently there are 16 protected areas identified, including "The Hundred Knolls" reef "Butesti" and "heap" scientific reserve "Royal Forest" Old Duruitoarea caves, gorges Racovatului, and their number can be extended considerably.
Although taken under state protection as protected areas and natural monuments, these pearls of natural heritage is in danger of irreversible destruction because local authorities and communities proline pools do not realize the value and importance nationally and internationally.
The area has tourism potential (primarily anthropic) great value, with numerous natural attractions that represent places generating tourism activities (forests, ponds, reserves, beaches), with a series of settlements totaling proline pools over 90,000 inhabitants in great part beneficiaries, and providers of tourist services and several "gates" of about Romania, which determines the need for urgent action to achieve environmental protection.
That is why, through this project, we intend to strengthen public information and involvement of citizens in decision-making on sustainable development and environmental protection in the Middle Prut basin
